Thanks for taking the time to comment again.

I will narrate the story of my husband, the iron, and Marilyn Monroe another day, Shilpi. It is too good not to share. :)Anu Warrierhttp://anuradhawarrier.blogspot.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2309362817539389132.post-45625892563014090002014-08-03T11:16:36.665-04:002014-08-03T11:16:36.665-04:00Thanks, Shilpi. I have been busy with personal matters, so much so that I was able to complete my own post with great difficulty. Before I continue, remember to tell us about your husband's ironing episode. HA! HA! I am curious.
Back to my hero Cary Grant, I really do like him, I have vaguely heard about this film, reading your review I know this is a film I would enjoy. I do not mind slapstick comedy particularly when it has such a wonderful cast. Unfortunately it isn't available on You Tube, actually none of the good films are, however there are a few scenes maybe I will just see them, poor me!Shilpi Bosenoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2309362817539389132.post-50848241563095377412014-08-03T10:21:16.500-04:002014-08-03T10:21:16.500-04:00Do not know Anu anyway I will comment again.Do not know Anu anyway I will comment again.Shilpi Bosenoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2309362817539389132.post-61299861347177876362014-08-02T12:49:47.922-04:002014-08-02T12:49:47.922-04:00Was there an earlier comment, Shilpi? So she was a bonus. :) You are right about the scenes when they were young going a little OTT. I had a rather strained smile when the painting episodes came on.Anu Warrierhttp://anuradhawarrier.blogspot.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2309362817539389132.post-91996966037612514062014-07-27T01:36:44.656-04:002014-07-27T01:36:44.656-04:00Heh. This was one of the films I reviewed in the early days of my blog. My main reason for watching it was Cary Grant and Ginger Rogers, not so much Marilyn, but I must admit I liked Marilyn too - total airhead, and very pretty. Overall, loads of fun, though I did find some of those scenes when they've become 'young' a little OTT.

Talking of Ginger Rogers not getting to dance, have you seen the Ronald Reagan-Ginger Rogers-Doris Day starrer, Storm Warning? Not at all the sort of film I'd have expected with Day and Rogers - it's about a KKK murder and the sudden flaring up of racial tension in a small town. Not a song or dance in sight.dustedoffnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2309362817539389132.post-79036387707726702582014-07-27T00:52:41.030-04:002014-07-27T00:52:41.030-04:00Oh, do watch it again, Miranda. :) I absolutely lo...Oh, do watch it again, Miranda. :) I absolutely loved my first viewing of this film, and the years gone by hasn't withered its charm. :)Anu Warrierhttp://anuradhawarrier.blogspot.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2309362817539389132.post-21702191135550509682014-07-26T18:27:55.477-04:002014-07-26T18:27:55.477-04:00Oh my gosh, I saw this EVERY time it aired when I ...Oh my gosh, I saw this EVERY time it aired when I was a kid. I loved it. Probably one of the first screwball comedies or even Cary Grant movies I ever saw, too. That said, I haven't seen it in years. I need to rewatch :)

The long list of writers is interesting . . . maybe accounts for some of the madcap-gags that don't seem to fit together at first glance. A lot of cooks in the house, but if memory serves, they served up a pretty good dish nonetheless.Filmi~Contrasthttp://filmi-contrast.blogspot.com/noreply@blogger.com
